International Day of the Girl Child, 2021 celebrated in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
The occasion had young female resources persons speak on “digital literacy” was attended by students from different girls schools.
The event was attended by the First Lady, wife of the Borno State Governor, Dr Falmata Babagana Umar Zulum, who spoke and inspire these girls on digital literacy and education in general. Accompanied by the First Lady are other top functionaries of the government in Borno state.

Salman Yahaya Maiyama’s presentation. During his presentation, Mr Maiyama gave some statistics showing adolescent girls being left behind in terms of getting access to the internet. He also gave some positives brought about by COVID19 especially in the digital economy. And finally motivated the girls in order to fully understand their potentials.
